We all know that the key word for all activities involving the crossing of continents is, of course, bureaucracy. 😊 To fly in the puppy of your dreams (by yourselves) you will be forced to start to obtain the license from the US Ministry of Agriculture to import the dogs. After you have obtained the license, you need to supply several certificates and authorizations to the government vet in the country of origin. Among them, the implanting of a six-fold chip according to the US standard, a valid rabies vaccine, antibody treatment of rabies and a veterinary health certificate supplied no later than 10 days before the flight to the US. The permits are required to exit the country of origin and to enter the US. The permits and the health certificate will be presented to the customs authority at the airport and thereafter will go through a process of “supply of cargo certification”.
